Hey Shep.

I'm sure you've heard about Jacob's operation going ass-end up on the news by now. I just wanted to let you know that I made it out in one piece [ relatively ] but I'm probably going to have to lay low for a little while. Which shouldn't be all that different from my usual state of being anyway.

I saw. I'm glad you made it out of there.

[ It's hard to know what else to say. There's guilt, in a way, but it's not in his nature to dwell on things that are already over -- though now he wonders if he owes it to Jacob, to try and figure out how to help. ]

Do you need a place to stay?

I'm crashing at Charlie's for now, but I can't stay here too long.

I'd hate to intrude on your love nest though.

Thanks, Shep. I normally wouldn't ask this of anyone, but things are a little different here. If they suspect me of being involved at all, they know where I live. And pulling a disappearing act isn't as easy when there isn't as much galaxy to hide around in.
